Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js / Express)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable backend APIs and event-driven services.
• Optimize database queries, data indexing, and caching layers (Redis, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and rate-limiting protocols.
• Ensure 99.99% system availability through automated monitoring, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers on backend architecture best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 5+ years of production experience in backend development using Node.js, Express, or TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, schema design, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), Docker, and containerized deployments.
• Knowledge of asynchronous event architectures, message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS), and caching.
• Commitment to writing clean, modular, and well-tested code.
